Job summary

The Perse School in Cambridge is seeking a Building Services & Compliance Officer to ensure safe, compliant operation of the school estate. You will work within the Estates Department under the Building Services & Energy Manager, overseeing maintenance, compliance checks and records.

The role combines proactive planning with on-site supervision of contractors, with a focus on BMS, alarms, HVAC, fire safety and electrical testing.

Qualifications

• Experience in building services compliance and facilities management.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to plan preventive maintenance and advise on improvements.
• Experience in supervising contractors on-site.

Responsibilities

• Review and update compliance procedures and the PPM schedule.
• Oversee building services such as BMS, intruder alarms, HVAC.
• Supervise minor works projects to improve building performance.
• Conduct regular compliance checks including fire safety and electrical testing.
• Manage contractor paperwork and maintain records for audits.
• Report progress to Estates management and maintain risk registers.
