Job summary

NHS Borders Estates Department is seeking an Estates Officer (Assurance) to support compliance, audit and risk management across the healthcare estate. You will assist the Estates Manager (Assurance) in ensuring adherence to legislation, NHS guidance and technical standards.

Key duties include audits, risk assessments, and advising on building systems. Applicants should have a degree in engineering/building services and a full UK driving licence; on-call work may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, building services or a related discipline.
• Experience in statutory compliance, audit or risk management.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake audits and risk assessments to support statutory compliance.
• Provide technical advice on building and engineering systems.
• Maintain compliance systems (e.g. SCART/CAFM) and assist policy development.
• Support staff training and liaise with contractors, consultants and stakeholders to ensure safe systems of work.
