Job - Estates and Facilities Officer

Salary - £23,846

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Estates and Facilities Officer to join their team at this Higher education College in Kidderminster. If you are passionate about providing a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors, we want to hear from you.

About the Role:

As our Estates and Facilities Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the College's premises. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive security, caretaking, estates, and facilities management service, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide security services, including monitoring CCTV, responding to alarms, and conducting regular patrols.
  2. Perform caretaking duties, such as general cleaning, waste management, and ensuring the premises are presentable.
  3. Conduct routine building maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
  4. Manage and coordinate external contractors for specialist maintenance work.
  5. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety procedures.
  6. Respond to and resolve maintenance requests and emergencies promptly.
  7. Assist with the setup and take down of equipment and furniture for events and activities.
  8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections.
  9. Provide a professional and courteous service to students, staff, and visitors.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Proven experience working in an education setting (e.g., school, college, university).
  2. Demonstrable experience in building maintenance and repair work.
  3. A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate and registration with the DBS Update Service.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
  7. A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  8. Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  9. Basic IT skills.
Desirable Skills:
  1. Relevant qualifications in building maintenance or facilities management.
  2. Experience in managing security systems.
  3. First Aid certification.
