Job summary

Orbit Group is seeking a supervisor to manage a team of Estate Operatives across a defined area, delivering high-quality estate services and supporting the Contracts & Standards Manager. You will lead recruitment, training and performance, ensuring safe practices and effective stock control.

You will coordinate with Contracts & Standards Managers and Property Managers to monitor performance and compliance, while ensuring value for money and timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive the association's vehicles.
• Capability to operate petrol mowers, strimmers, floor cleaning apparatus and electric hand tools.
• Experience of working in a similar or related environment or post.
• Knowledge of estate-based service delivery and contract management.
• Knowledge of British Standards, Codes of Practice, Health & Safety and related professional codes.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for staff management of Estate Operatives, including recruitment, training and performance/absence management.
• Conduct regular performance meetings with Contracts & Standards Managers and other stakeholders to monitor performance.
• Ensure value for money with stock inventories of sundries and equipment.
• Allocate sufficient time for works to be completed to standard.
• Maintain asset registers for machinery and equipment and ensure safe, compliant usage.
• Order, distribute and maintain PPE and equipment, storing chemicals and equipment safely per COSHH.
• Ensure Health & Safety policies are followed with regular checks and audits.
• Perform inspections, inventories and audits of equipment and vehicles and file annexes.
• Participate in Out of Hours Rotas.
