Job summary

Service Care Solutions Ltd is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative for a site in Penge, London. This 3-month temporary role with a view to permanency runs 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, delivering high standards of grounds care.

You will work across housing estates, mowing, hedges, borders, and litter removal, prioritising safety and teamwork. A full UK driving licence is essential; company van provided where required.

Qualifications

• Experience in ground maintenance, gardening or landscaping.
• Experience using strimmers, hedge cutters, lawnmowers and similar tools.
• Understanding of general grounds maintenance and horticultural practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and perform physically demanding duties.
• Health and safety minded with a responsible approach around the public.
• Reliable, punctual and a good team player.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential; company van provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general grounds maintenance across housing estates.
• Grass cutting with pedestrian and ride-on mowers.
• Trim hedges and prune shrubs to keep areas neat and tidy.
• Identify and report damaged pathways, fencing or street furniture.
• Keep pathways and communal areas clear of litter and debris.
• Work safely around residents and vehicles; use equipment properly.
• Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance activities throughout the year.
