Job summary

BTG Eddissons is seeking a hands-on Caretaker to help keep a unique estate secure, well-presented and properly maintained. You will undertake general maintenance, supervise external contractors and ensure high presentation standards across the property.

The role offers flexible working arrangements, long‑term opportunity for the right person, and a competitive salary based on experience. You will report to the property owner and liaise with BTG Eddissons to maintain the estate to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Caretaker, Estate Worker, Maintenance Operative, Facilities Assistant or similar position.
• Strong practical maintenance and DIY skills.
• Proactive and self-motivated approach.
• Ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Trustworthy, professional and reliable.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance and repair of the property.
• Conducting routine inspections of the house, grounds and outbuildings.
• Completing minor repairs, decorating and DIY tasks.
• Grounds maintenance, gardening and upkeep of external areas.
• Ensuring the property remains secure and protected at all times.
• Liaising with and supervising external contractors.
• Monitoring utilities and reporting any issues.
• Assisting with planned maintenance and property improvement projects.
• Maintaining high presentation standards throughout the estate.
• Reporting regularly to BTG Eddissons and the property owner.
