Role: Police Community Support Officer (PCSO)

As a PCSO, you'll work closely with communities to promote safety and confidence. You will collaborate with police officers, special constables, and partner agencies to actively seek information and intelligence related to criminal activity and vulnerabilities within the communities you serve.

Joining Essex Police as a PCSO offers a starting salary of £26,106, with annual increments up to £31,293. The role involves a full-time 37-hour work week, following a 6 on, 3 off shift pattern of early and late shifts from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, 7 days a week. A 12.5% shift allowance and weekend working enhancements are payable.

Eligibility

This position is open to British Citizens, nationals of the EC or other states in the European Economic Area, Commonwealth citizens, and foreign nationals. Applicants must be residents in the UK with indefinite leave to remain and work without restrictions. Continuous residence in the UK for the past three years is required unless you are serving in the British Army or conducting Government work.
