Job summary

A regional football association is seeking a Coaching Development Officer to enhance local football participation. You will lead a coach development program, manage delivery of CPD opportunities, and work collaboratively with various leagues. Candidates should have at least a UEFA ‘B’ Licence, strong project management skills, and a passion for coaching diverse communities.

Qualifications

Essex County FA Coaching Development Officer

Organisation: Essex County Football Association. Salary: Circa £29,000 (dependent on experience). Location: The County Office, Springfield Lyons Approach, Chelmsford, Essex, CM2 5LB. Contract type: Permanent (Full time). Closing date: 6 October 2025. Interview date: 9 October 2025.

A fantastic opportunity has become available to join the Essex County FA’s Development Team as a Coaching Development Officer, playing a key role in supporting local male, female and disability participation pathways.

The new officer will lead the growth and sustainability of high-quality coach development opportunities within England Football Accredited Clubs and work closely with Essex’s network of youth leagues. They’ll design and deliver people-centred programmes aligned with the FA Learning Coach Development Framework.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing delivery of the Essex County FA Coach Development Programme
  • Producing and delivering an annual coach development plan to support over 2,000 CPD opportunities
  • Working with participation pathway leads to create tailored opportunities across male, female and disability football
  • Developing and managing a team of casual Coach Developers

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a UEFA ‘B’ Licence, knowledge of The FA coaching qualification framework and experience of supporting grassroots coaches and delivering adult learning. They’ll require strong project management and communication skills and will possess a passion for coaching and developing people from a variety of backgrounds.
