Location: Wokingham, UK (Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week)

Type: Contract (6 months)

Day Rate: £400-£470 INSIDE IR35

Overview

We are looking for an experienced ESRI GIS Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of a scalable GIS platform to support strategic energy planning and decision-making. This role involves consolidating and migrating diverse spatial datasets, ensuring high data quality, and enabling secure, role-based access and interoperability with other enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy a scalable ESRI-based GIS platform (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, etc.).
• Define system architecture, integrations, and data flows across enterprise platforms.
• Migrate and consolidate legacy spatial datasets into a unified system.
• Develop spatial models for energy planning, environmental impact assessments, and forecasting.
• Build interactive dashboards and maps for stakeholder engagement.
• Establish data governance protocols and implement ETL workflows.
• Configure secure, role-based access controls and data sharing standards.
• Automate data ingestion, processing, and reporting workflows.
• Integrate GIS with enterprise tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI, AutoDesk).
• Develop custom tools using APIs and SDKs for enhanced interoperability.

Your Profile

• 8+ years of experience in GIS, with strong expertise in ESRI technologies.
• Proven track record in deploying ArcGIS Enterprise and managing spatial data infrastructures.
• Strong knowledge of spatial analysis, environmental modelling, and energy planning.
• Proficiency in Python, ArcPy, and ModelBuilder for automation.
• Hands-on experience with data migration, ETL tools, and system integration.
• Familiarity with cloud-based GIS deployments and hybrid architectures.
