Job summary

A leading insurance company is seeking an Associate Director for ESG Risk Management. This role involves assessing and monitoring operational and ESG risks, alongside leading climate risk initiatives and managing reporting frameworks. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in financial services and extensive knowledge of ESG and Climate Risk. This contract position targets mid-senior level professionals who can build strong stakeholder relationships and provide effective oversight.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within financial services, ideally insurance.
• Extensive experience in ESG, Sustainability or Climate Risk.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, processes and tools.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor operational and ESG risks, including incidents, RCSAs and issue management.
• Provide effective second-line oversight and constructive challenge across ESG, sustainability and operational risk areas.
• Lead climate risk dashboards, scenario analysis and regulatory ESG reporting.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and ensure alignment with group risk frameworks.
• Manage and develop one direct report to deliver team objectives.
