ESG Manager

  • Location: UK Flexible – with an element of site travel

  • Reports to: Head of Facilities
  • Salary: £50,000

Our mission is to enhance the student experience through innovative solutions and responsible practices.

Position Overview: The ESG Manager will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and managing the company's ESG strategies and initiatives. This position requires a forward-thinking individual with a strong understanding of environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance practices. The ESG Manager will collaborate with various departments to ensure the integration of ESG principles into all aspects of the business.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities1. Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive ESG strategies aligned with the company's mission and goals.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify ESG risks and opportunities.
  • Set measurable ESG targets and monitor progress.

2. Environmental Sustainability:

  • Lead initiatives to reduce the company's environmental footprint, including energy efficiency, waste management, and water conservation.
  • Promote sustainable building practices and materials in new developments and renovations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and partners to ensure environmentally responsible sourcing.

3. Social Responsibility:

  • Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity within the company and its properties.
  • Develop programs to support student well-being, mental health, and community engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with labour standards and human rights policies.

4. Governance:

  • Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Monitor and report on ESG performance to stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and the community.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant ESG regulations and standards.

5. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote ESG initiatives and gather feedback.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and forums.
  • Build partnerships with NGOs, academic institutions, and other organizations to advance ESG goals.

6. Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare regular ESG reports and disclosures in accordance with global standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
  • Communicate ESG achievements and challenges to stakeholders through various channels.
  • Develop educational materials and training programs for employees on ESG topics.
Qualifications

Qualifications• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ESG management or a related role.• Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards, and best practices.• Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.• Passion for sustainability and social impact.• Strong problem solving and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.• Strong leadership, facilitation and influencing skills to support and counsel others.
