The Sustainable Finance Research team of ISS-Corporate is seeking a consultant to join its London-based team immediately. This unit provides critical sustainability opinions on Green, Social, and Sustainability-Linked Bonds and offers training to Debt Capital Market stakeholders to advance their ESG strategies. The role offers in-depth exposure to environmental and social topics, engaging with various stakeholders in sustainable finance. The successful candidate will work independently, contribute to product and methodology development, and support business growth. We seek candidates passionate about sustainability, who thrive in fast-paced, multicultural teams, and possess strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support second party opinion (SPO) and external review projects by conducting ESG analysis of Green, Social, and Sustainability-Linked Bonds, including assessing issuer strategies, managing client relationships, and producing reports.
• Contribute to product and methodology development.
• Support sales team interactions on technical requests.
• Produce content related to Sustainable Bonds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in sustainability/ESG consulting, environmental/climate consulting, or capital markets.
• Advanced degree in environmental science, law, engineering, finance, economics, or international relations.
• Interest and knowledge in Green & Social Bonds, sustainable finance, or corporate sustainability analysis.
• Experience with sustainable finance regulation and taxonomies (EU Taxonomy, CBI, EU Green Bond Standard, CSRD) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with a track record of meeting deadlines in multi-stakeholder projects.
• Fluent in English and German, both oral and written.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first attitude.
• Experience in client-facing roles is advantageous.
• Enthusiastic about working in a multicultural, collaborative, innovative environment across different locations.
