Job summary

A sustainability consultancy in the UK is seeking an ESG Consultant for a contract role lasting 6-12 months. The consultant will work on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments for a public sector client. Responsibilities include ensuring ESG compliance, developing action plans, and maintaining stakeholder relationships. Candidates should have a background in ESG or sustainability and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in ESG, sustainability, or corporate responsibility.
  • Background in public sector or consultancy projects (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary ESG liaison between client, vendors, and the client.
  • Assess and monitor supplier ESG commitments against agreed standards.
  • Develop and deliver ESG action plans, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.
  • Track and report progress against ESG objectives, ensuring audit-ready evidence.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across ESG performance.

Skills

Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks (GRI, TCFD, UN SDGs)
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Understanding of supply chain ESG, governance, and audit processes

Education

Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Social Policy or equivalent
