A nationally critical freight programme is rolling out ERTMS across the UK rail network and we're looking for an experienced Assurance Lead to shape its success.
You'll lead the assurance strategy, own APIS/PIU delivery, and ensure full compliance with safety and regulatory frameworks including CSM-REA, 4-SP, and ESAC. This role is central to modernising freight operations through cutting-edge digital signalling.
Develop and implement assurance frameworks across safety, technical and regulatory areas
Engage with key stakeholders: ORR, Network Rail, AsBo, and industry partners
Lead on hazard/risk management, safety case delivery, and system integration evidence
Advise senior leadership on risk, compliance, and industry standards
Champion a culture of assurance and safety throughout the programme
Proven experience leading assurance on major rail or ERTMS/ETCS programmes
Strong knowledge of CSM-REA, safety cases, and regulatory engagement
Skilled communicator with stakeholder influence across complex programmes
(Bonus) CEng status, knowledge of 4-SP, ESAC, and freight operations
