Job description

Red Bull Powertrains is seeking an experienced ERS Test Technician to join the Validation & Testing Group at our advanced facility in Milton Keynes. The role involves physical testing of Powertrain systems, ranging from individual components to full electrified vehicles.

The successful candidate will utilize cutting-edge test technology, automation tools, and modern testing methodologies to optimize the performance and reliability of Formula One cars under race conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing ERS components on various test beds
  • Instrumenting and logging data from Units Under Test (UUTs)
  • Maintaining test dynos and rigs, reporting facility issues
  • Operating test equipment following instructions and procedures
  • Servicing and repairing test equipment and supporting UUT activities
  • Analyzing test results and identifying faults

Requirements:

  • Experience with electric powertrain testing, preferably in motorsport
  • Knowledge of ERS systems (motor, inverter, battery) and basic electrics and hydraulics
  • Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering or higher
  • Experience with automated test equipment in High-Voltage environments
  • Understanding of motor vehicle technology and F1 powertrain architecture
  • Manual dexterity and practical skills
  • Experience with test instrumentation, measurement, and CAN communication
  • HV Competent Person certification is desirable

Shift patterns: Early/late shifts and 4 on, 3 off shifts available.
