Job description

Next Ventures is seeking a Financial Controller with ERP experience for a contract role with our client in London.

Start Date: June
Location: Central London
Duration: 6 months + ext
Rate: Outside IR35

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated experience in implementing Chart of Accounts structures and defining a robust Financial Controls matrix within an ERP implementation project.
• Provide hands-on experience in testing the effectiveness of defined controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, accounting, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of financial processes within the ERP system.
• Assist in the configuration and customization of the ERP system to meet the specific financial reporting and analysis needs of the organization.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of financial processes, system configurations, and user procedures.
• Provide training and support to finance staff on the use of the ERP system, ensuring user adoption and proficiency.
• Identify and troubleshoot system issues, working with IT and the ERP vendor to implement timely and effective solutions.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the ERP system, implementing robust controls and validation procedures.
• Develop and generate financial reports, statements, and analyses to support management decision-making and regulatory compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize financial processes, enhance system functionality, and improve efficiency.
• Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with a focus on ERP systems.
• Proven experience implementing and managing ERP financial modules (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, etc.).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools).
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is a bonus.
