Why The Works?
We don’t just sell products. We inspire reading, learning, creativity and play.

The Works. It literally means everything. And whatever your story or background, we’re all about unlocking imagination and making creativity accessible to everyone. Whether you’re engaging with customers on the frontline or supporting our colleagues behind the scenes, your impact can be profound and far-reaching.

This is more than toys and books and art supplies. This is about inspiring people to read, learn, create and play. So, with the right passion, it all starts with you.

Become an ERP Change Manager

As ERP Change Manager, you will lead the change and adoption workstream within a complex, enterprise-wide ERP transformation programme.

Reporting to the Head of ERP Delivery, you will be accountable for ensuring the business is ready, engaged and able to successfully adopt new systems and ways of working. You will translate programme delivery into practical, people-focused change, embedding new behaviours and processes to ensure the ERP programme delivers sustained business impact and long-term value.

Your Mission
  • Design and execute the change framework for the ERP programme, ensuring a structured and effective approach to delivering business-wide transformation.
  • Partner with business leaders and workstream teams to land change effectively within their functions, ensuring clarity, ownership and alignment at every stage.
  • Define and embed business readiness frameworks, including change impact assessments, stakeholder mapping and readiness criteria to support key stage gates such as UAT and Go Live.
  • Drive adoption and engagement, identifying areas of risk and resistance and working proactively with teams to ensure successful adoption and long-term behaviour change.
  • Develop and deliver a clear communications approach, working with Communications and Strategic Delivery teams to articulate the “what’s in it for me” and ensure consistent messaging across the business.
  • Support the design of future ways of working, including SOPs, RACI and process design, partnering with Business Analysts and Workstream Leads to embed sustainable change.
  • Enable capability building, shaping the training strategy and working with programme teams to ensure colleagues are ready to operate effectively in the new environment, utilising Talent Development support where required and agreed.
Skills/Behaviours That Will Set You Apart
  • Change leadership and adoption – Proven ability to lead large-scale business change, ensuring new systems and ways of working are understood, adopted and sustained across complex organisations, ideally including ERP implementation.
  • Stakeholder engagement and influence – Strong credibility with senior leaders and operational teams, able to challenge, support and bring stakeholders with you through periods of significant change.
  • Understanding of business operations – Ability to translate complex system and process changes into practical, real-world impacts for teams, with a strong focus on making change land effectively.
  • Change framework and methodology – Experience designing and delivering structured change approaches, including impact assessments, stakeholder mapping, communications and readiness planning.
  • Communication and storytelling – Ability to simplify complex change into clear, engaging messages, with a strong focus on “what’s in it for me” to drive understanding and engagement.
  • Risk and adoption management – Proactive in identifying resistance, adoption risks and behavioural challenges, and working with teams to address these early and effectively.
