An exciting opportunity to join the Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) supporting the Adult Mental Health Services. The role focuses on enhancing colleagues' understanding of risk management, facilitating assessments, leading training programs, and contributing to service development. Join a dedicated team to drive impactful initiatives and positively influence service user outcomes.
The purpose of this post is to support colleagues working within Adult Mental Health Services to develop their understanding and skills in identifying, assessing, and managing risk to others posed by some service users, who do not reach the threshold for Forensic Services. This ensures that our colleagues can better engage with treatment, remain in services, and improve overall risk management.
This role involves facilitating Enhanced Risk Assessment (ERAs) meetings, Risk Management Plan meetings, and consultations; attending AMH team meetings to discuss the ERA process and support risk-related decision-making; contributing to staff training on risk assessment and management; and formulating risk and management plans collaboratively with staff.
Our team does not work directly with service users within ERA but focuses on assisting colleagues within HPFT and external agencies to develop robust formulations and management plans that positively impact service users and the community.
There may be opportunities to work clinically with forensic teams, especially the Primary Mental Health Treatment Requirement team (Liaison & Diversion), which provides court-ordered low-intensity interventions for service users on community-based sentences.
The primary duty of this post is to ensure that all colleagues within HPFT have access to appropriate guidance and support to work with service users who pose potential risks to others. This includes several key areas:
HPFT is an outstanding NHS Foundation Trust, rated highly by the Care Quality Commission. Our over 4,000 staff serve more than 400,000 people across Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Norfolk, providing community and inpatient services, including specialized services such as Tier 4, perinatal, and secure learning disability services.
Our Trust Values are: Welcoming, Kind, Positive, Respectful, Professional. These values underpin everything we do.
Would you like to join the HPFT family? Are you interested in working with us to help service users live full lives? Would you like support in developing your career?
