The role

As an ER Case Specialist, you will provide advice and guidance on highly complex employee relations matters in alignment with Company Policy and relevant employment legislation to line managers. In this role, you will be accountable for managing relationships with all relevant stakeholders throughout the case management process. Your responsibilities will encompass the full range of ER cases, including early resolution, conflict, misconduct, health and wellbeing, capability, reorganisation, and ACAS/Employment Tribunal cases. Your key responsibilities will include:

•Ensuring the wellbeing, inclusion, and safe resolution of cases, assessing the colleague experience throughout the journey and implementing interventions to provide support and mitigate risks.

•Providing timely and accurate advice on all aspects of employment law and Company policies and procedures, while considering business and commercial needs.

•Delivering services and processes in accordance with agreed policies, procedures, and Service Level Agreements.

•Accurately logging all activities on the case management systems to ensure transparency and record-keeping.

•Maintaining strong working relationships within the People Team, Payroll, Legal, Trade Unions and the wider business to support priorities and goals effectively.

•Designing and deliver training programmes and support ad hoc ER projects, including improvements to processes, policies, or products.

What will make you successful in the role?

The ideal candidate will hold (or be working towards) a CIPD Level 5 qualification and have extensive experience managing complex Employee Relations (ER) matters, including investigations, grievances, disciplinary cases, bullying and harassment, performance management, absence, and redundancy. You will possess a strong understanding of employment law and ACAS codes, with a proven ability to manage cases end-to-end with a strategic and risk-assessment focus. A track record of success in high-volume, fast-paced environments, consistently meeting SLAs and delivering impactful outcomes, is essential. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships, as well as excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload to meet SLAs.
