Job summary

Qualifications

• A PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Strong track record of research with at least one peer‑reviewed first‑author publication.
• Experience in molecular and cellular biology; autophagy/ER biology knowledge is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills; independent and collaborative work.
• Creativity, critical thinking and a commitment to scientific excellence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research to uncover molecular mechanisms regulating ER-phagy and ER homeostasis.
• Design, perform and analyse experiments using state‑of‑the‑art molecular and cell biology approaches.
• Contribute to development of research projects, manuscripts and grant applications.
• Present findings at lab meetings and national/international conferences.
• Collaborate with researchers within the MRC PPU and external partners.
