Job description

We’re on the lookout for a people-first Employee Relations Partner to join our growing People Team. This is a big step for us, we’re moving away from relying on external legal support and bringing ER in-house. It’s the perfect time for someone confident, collaborative and experienced to come in and really make it their own.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how we do employee relations across the business, supporting our managers and making sure we handle every situation with care, fairness and confidence. Our managers already know the process, what they need is someone they trust to lean on when things get a bit complex. That’s where you come in!

What You’ll Be Doing

It’s about building trust, coaching our managers, and helping people get things right. You’ll support with everything from sickness and performance conversations to investigations, grievances and disciplinaries – keeping things calm, clear and on track.

You’ll spend time on-site, get to know our people, and work proactively to spot challenges before they escalate. You’ll make sure our case tracking is spot on, provide regular insights to the Head of HR, and play a part in updating policies and shaping training for managers too. It’s a hands-on role, perfect for someone who wants to be involved in every part of ER, from big picture thinking right down to the detail.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 3 years’ experience in an HR or ER role, ideally in hospitality, retail or a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Strong UK employment law knowledge and the confidence to advise clearly and practically
  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience that proves you know your stuff)
  • A great listener who’s approachable, balanced and knows how to challenge with care
  • Calm under pressure, organised and solutions-focused
  • Someone who can build great relationships and isn’t afraid to get stuck in
  • You’ll need to be happy travelling across our sites in the South West, Jersey and Guernsey

What You’ll Get In Return

  • Salary of up to £40k, depending on experience
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off
  • 30% off food, drink & stays at any Butcombe Pub
  • 20% off beer and merch from our online shop
  • Exclusive perks and discounts from thousands of retailers with the Benefits Bar
  • 24/7 wellbeing support – for your mental, physical and financial health
  • Real opportunities for growth and development in a business that values its people
