Employee Relations Manager - Workforce & Change

Location: London (3 days in office)

Contract: Interim / FTC

Salary: up to £120,000

Oakleaf Partnership is working with a highly reputable global bank seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager on a 12-month FTC. This role focuses on managing large-scale restructures, consultations, business sales, and acquisitions. You will need to be confident advising at the executive level, leading complex consultations, and navigating high-volume redundancy processes within a large matrix environment. You must have gained ER experience within a Banking or Financial Services environment.

What is the role:
  • Leading and delivering multiple change projects end-to-end.
  • Managing a team of six (UK & offshore).
  • Operating strategically while remaining hands-on.
  • Influencing senior stakeholders with strong negotiation and relationship skills.
  • Bringing robust experience in large-scale workforce change, ideally within Investment Banking or another complex matrixed organization.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven ER/change management background with experience managing large-scale redundancies.
  • Experience working within a large, matrix environment, ideally from Banking, Financial Services, or a large commercial organization.
  • Strong knowledge of consultations, TUPE, business sales, and acquisitions.
  • Confidence operating at the executive level with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with union/works council consultations.
  • Solid understanding of employment law and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage sensitive projects across multiple jurisdictions.
