Employee Relations Case Manager
Remote
Full time, 9-month Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover
Salary £34,000 -£39,000 per annum dependent on experience

As an Employee Relations Case Manager at Serco, you'll join a centralised team of ER specialists providing expert advice and support to over 3,000 people managers across the UK.

This is a key role in supporting people managers through the full employee lifecycle, covering areas such as performance, grievance, disciplinary, absence management, and more. You'll act as a trusted advisor, ensuring legal compliance, best practice, and timely case resolution.

As part of this you'll:

  1. Managing a range of employee relations cases from start to finish across the UK.
  2. Providing pragmatic and proactive HR advice aligned with employment law and Serco's policies.
  3. Coaching and supporting People Managers, helping them handle people matters with confidence.
  4. Collaborating with HR Business Partners and providing key insights through data and case reviews.
  5. Supporting policy development, tribunal preparation, and contributing to best practice approaches.
  6. Mentoring ER Advisors and acting as an escalation point for complex queries.

What you'll need to do the role:

  1. HR Qualified (CIPD or equivalent) - or significant equivalent experience.
  2. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  3. Proven experience managing complex ER cases (redundancies, grievances, restructures, etc.).
  4. Skilled in coaching and influencing managers with a calm, professional, and commercial approach.
  5. Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  6. Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  7. Experience working within a client-facing or consultancy-style HR setting is a bonus.
