Job summary

Bruin is seeking a Performance & Attribution Analyst in London, operating within a hybrid model. You will work with Portfolio Managers and Risk teams to explain portfolio performance across global strategies, with a focus on equity and Fund of Fund portfolios, and opportunities to broaden into Fixed Income.

The role centers on delivering accurate performance measurement and attribution, supporting analytics across multiple asset classes, and driving improvements with data and automation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in investment performance measurement and attribution.
• Experience supporting Equity and/or Fund of Fund portfolios.
• Good knowledge of equity attribution methodologies, ideally Brinson-based attribution.
• Exposure to Fixed Income performance and attribution would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of equity markets and investment strategies.
• Ability to identify performance drivers and communicate clearly to stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive and continuous-improvement mindset.
• Strong communication within Portfolio Managers, Risk and investment teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and insightful performance measurement and attribution analysis.
• Analyse drivers of daily excess performance including market movements, rebalances and cash flows.
• Prepare and present insights to Portfolio Managers and Risk teams.
• Apply Brinson-based attribution and other established methodologies.
• Validate outputs across multiple systems and escalate issues.
• Assist with queries and collaborate with senior colleagues on complex topics.
• Utilise Excel, FactSet, SQL and Python to support analysis and reporting.
• Contribute to automation and process improvements.
• Work collaboratively within a global team and share best practices.
