Job Title: Equities Valuation Specialist

Location: London, United Kingdom

Job Description:

We are seeking an Equities Valuation Specialist to join our team in London. This role is at the Vice President / Director level within our Global Valuation Group (GVG) Methodology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing valuation control frameworks for equity derivatives and hybrids, collaborating with multiple stakeholders including trading, finance, risk, and external regulators.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve valuation control methodologies for equity derivatives, including IPV, valuation adjustments, and fair value hierarchies.
  • Address valuation issues through deep analysis of IPV results in partnership with trading desks and finance teams.
  • Enhance model governance by working with quantitative and model validation teams, and validate valuation adjustments.
  • Leverage market knowledge to understand valuation trends, liquidity, and uncertainties.
  • Collaborate with market risk teams to develop methodologies for liquidity reserves and other valuation reserves.
  • Automate workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure global consistency in valuation control processes and reporting.
  • Communicate complex valuation findings to senior management, auditors, and regulators.
  • Mentor junior team members and develop technical expertise within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in valuation control, risk management, or model development within large financial institutions.
  • Expertise in vanilla and exotic equity derivatives and their pricing models; knowledge of other financial products is a plus.
  • Understanding of global regulatory standards related to financial instrument valuation.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in engaging with regulators, auditors, and senior management.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
