Job summary

CBSbutler is seeking an Equipment Technician for a high-tech semiconductor manufacturing facility in Northamptonshire. The role involves hands-on maintenance of electro-mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic, electrical and RF systems in a cleanroom environment.

The position offers a competitive salary up to 40,000 with a 35% shift allowance, 12-hour continental shifts (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off) and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience in high-tech, precision or safety-critical environments.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain advanced manufacturing and process equipment.
• Provide rapid engineering response to minimise equipment downtime.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to maximise equipment uptime and performance.
• Fault-find across electrical, electronic, mechanical, vacuum and pneumatic systems.
• Support equipment including lithography, etch, deposition and epitaxy systems.
• Work safely with specialist gases, chemicals and associated delivery and exhaust systems.
• Manage critical spare parts and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures and maintenance records.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities and other technical teams.
