The Role:

Join Hampshire Equipment Services (HES) as an Equipment Technician, ensuring the safety of medical and mobility equipment.You’ll use a Council vehicleto deliver, collect, install, repair and service this equipment.Full training will be provided to ensure compliance with LOLER and PUWER safety standards.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform inspections, tests, installations, maintenanceand repairs in service users’ homes, schools, residential, and nursing homes across Hampshire.
  • Ensure all equipment meets LOLER and PUWER safety standards.
  • Conduct Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
  • Manage and schedule your own workload efficiently.
  • Attend monthly team meetings at the Hampshire Equipment Service office in Basingstoke.
  • Handle heavy objects such as bed parts, pressure-relief equipment, hoists, chairs and bath lifts.

What we’re looking for:

  • A current, full UK driving licence.
  • General knowledge of engineering, electrical circuits, fixing methods and fault-finding techniques.

  • Physically able to undertake the moving and handling of equipment up to 20KG.

Working Patterns

The working hours for this position follow a current pattern of Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm, with a 4pm Friday finish.

Our Service runs 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. Following approximately 12 months in the role, you’ll be required to participate in the on-call out of hours, weekend and bank holiday rota, working a rotational 1:12 basis, for which enhancements are paid.

Travel Requirements:

You will be required to drive a Council vehicle and must hold a current full drivers’ licence.
