About Our Client

Our client is an established player in the FMCG industry. They maintain a large organisation, boasting a substantial workforce spread across multiple locations. Renowned for their quality products, they are committed to maintaining high standards in their operations, making them a leader in their sector.

Job Description

  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant internal stakeholders and trading partners.
  2. Promote an organisational culture which recognises the Management of IBC / Chep Pallets / White pallets used in the business.
  3. Coordinate with Customers, Sales Account managers, transport planning and control equipment movements across entry and exit points.
  4. Set up, monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for Suppliers and negotiate best prices for new or ongoing Equipment contracts.
  5. Manage daily compliance checking and action any correction/reversal activity.
  6. Coordinate weekly and/or monthly stock takes and reconciliation process (dependent on your business operating environment).
  7. Investigate and manage any variance. Escalate issues in a timely manner for resolution.
  8. Ensure reusable equipment transfers, hire costs and recoveries are managed and processed in accordance with supplier and customer contract terms and conditions.
  9. Where applicable ensure reusable equipment accounts are set up and configured nationally on a consistent basis to optimise equipment control accuracy and traceability.
  10. Problem solve and identify through root cause analysis areas for continuous improvement, then design and implement solutions.
  11. Ensure invoicing, paperwork and systems compliance are accurate, auditable and filed according to business standards.
  12. Train and support staff on the importance of equipment control and on key processes and procedures.
  13. Provide process and system advice to the business related to equipment control and management.
  14. Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures and effectively communicate these.
  15. Adapt and follow best practices to optimise performance, sharing insights and opportunities to improve with internal teams and trading partners.

The Successful Applicant

  1. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  2. Will be required to travel between sites within the Group (Liverpool) with own transport; mileage will be reimbursed.
  3. Good understanding of warehouse operations activities, materials handling equipment, warehouse systems and pallet management software.
  4. Strong problem-solving ability and focus on fair practice.
  5. Competent computer skills, including high levels of data entry speed/accuracy and previous experience in Excel.
  6. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members, trading partners and customers.
  7. Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment across all levels of the organisation.
  8. A team player willing and able to coach and mentor team members.
  9. Strong time management and organisational skills.
  10. Experience in managing change and driving continuous improvements.
  11. Previous equipment control experience (advantageous).
