Job description

Equine Veterinary Surgeon – Lincolnshire

  • Join a thriving, independent equine practice in Lincolnshire with a strong stud and orthopaedic caseload, cutting-edge mobile equipment, and exciting plans for a purpose-built clinic in the future.
  • Earn a competitive salary of up to £50,000 DOE (£36,000 for new graduates), with a generous benefits package and exceptional opportunities for career growth.
  • Work with a friendly, supportive team of six vets, three support staff, and a yard assistant, with additional hires planned to strengthen the practice further.
  • Gain hands-on experience in sports medicine, orthopaedics, and thoroughbred reproduction, while delivering gold-standard care to horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules across Lincolnshire.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join a proudly independent and rapidly growing ambulatory practice in Lincolnshire. Established in October 2023, this dynamic practice has quickly built a reputation for accessible, modern clinical excellence while staying true to traditional values. With a strong stud and orthopaedic caseload—covering 40% leisure, 40% sport, and 20% thoroughbred reproduction—this is an incredible role for an ambitious vet looking to develop their skills in a progressive, well-supported environment!

The team consists of six experienced vets, three dedicated support staff, and a skilled yard assistant, with plans to expand further, including hiring a Practice Manager and another yard assistant. The practice is fully mobile, equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment tools, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental kit, shockwave therapy, PRP, gastroscope, endoscope, and an in-house laboratory. While intensive hospitalisation cases are referred out, the clinic provides on-site care and diagnostics for a variety of equine patients, ensuring a comprehensive service for clients across the region.

This position is perfect for an experienced vet or recently graduated vet with up to 2-3 years of experience, offering exceptional opportunities to gain hands-on experience in sports medicine, orthopaedics, and reproduction. With 24/7 emergency cover, the team is committed to providing gold-standard veterinary care to horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules across Lincolnshire. Looking ahead, the practice has exciting expansion plans, with a purpose-built clinic on the horizon, ensuring even greater service capabilities for both clients and vets alike.

If you’re looking for a supportive, forward-thinking practice where you can develop your equine veterinary career in a friendly, professional team, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
