Job description

B&W Equine Hospital are looking for a full time Patient Care Assistant to join our dynamic team of Nurses, Patient Care Assistants and specialist vets at the equine hospital in Breadstone, Gloucestershire.

This is a permanent position, 40 hours per week.

B&W Equine Hospital has state of the art facilities and a team of specialist vets who see a wide and varied caseload. The role will involve a variety of nursing duties including but not limited to inpatient care and assisting with treatments, intensive care and neonatal nursing, theatre nursing, diagnostic imaging and laboratory work.

You will also assist Veterinary Surgeons in performing a range of procedures such as complex dental cases, internal medicine cases and poor performance/lameness examinations. The role will also include working on the hospital yard as required.

The successful applicant must be proactive, hardworking and motived with a conciseness and positive approach. You must uphold excellent horse handling skills, and experience within the veterinary setting is preferred but not required.

In house training in all aspects of the job will be provided. The successful applicant should be able to work well both as a team and autonomously. The rota includes night shifts and weekend work on a shared rotation.
