Job summary

inspiring vet care in the UK is seeking an Equine Nursing Assistant for Scarsdale Vets Equine Centre on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week from 08:30 to 17:00 on weekdays with weekend rota may be required.

You will work with vets and nursing staff to provide high-quality husbandry for equine patients, assist with procedures, manage stock, and deliver excellent client service while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Reliable and motivated individual ready to work in a veterinary setting.
• Care for animals with a genuine interest in welfare.
• Capable of teamwork and collaborating with colleagues and clients.
• Willingness to learn and develop within the veterinary environment.
• Experience with animals is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• General husbandry including mucking out, feeding and watering.
• Paddock maintenance such as poo picking.
• Handle horses of various types and communicate health concerns to the vet team.
• Daily grooming of inpatients and yard cleanliness following infection controls.
• Maintain stock levels of hay, bedding and feed; assist with procedures as required.
• Provide excellent client service and adhere to data protection guidelines.
