Job description

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice who is looking to further their knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will work alongside our current team handling and caring for our equine assisted therapy horses. As an organisation, we are dedicated to providing opportunities for those from disadvantaged backgrounds to access horses, and we welcome applications from those with little or no prior experience with horses, provided they can demonstrate a commitment to learning and development.

Training and Responsibilities

Working with a professional staff team of equestrian professionals from varied backgrounds, the training will provide a solid foundation to work in any equestrian sphere. There is the opportunity to receive targeted training in equine psychology, groundwork training, as well as equine assisted therapy and learning. A high standard of care and attention to detail is expected to maintain our company’s reputation.

Yard Duties will include, but are not limited to:
  1. Mucking out stables
  2. Turning out and bringing in horses
  3. Feeding, watering, and haying
  4. Grooming
  5. Clipping and trimming
  6. Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard
  7. Tacking up
  8. Riding opportunities if desired

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, hardworking team. The successful candidate will work towards a Level 2 Equine Apprenticeship, with further training and employment opportunities available for the right candidate.
