England Athletics is the membership and development body for athletics and running in England. We work in partnership with the wider athletics family, especially our member clubs and bodies, UK Athletics, Sport England, and commercial partners, to grow opportunities for everyone to experience our sport and to enable them to reach their full potential. England Athletics also provides national-level competition and is responsible for athlete development beneath world-class performance levels.

About Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Manager

A vacancy has arisen at England Athletics for a permanent Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Manager. The role will be key in leading the organisation in the EDI area by informing and influencing policy and programme design, and supporting the wider sport in achieving its vision: 'for athletes to become an inclusive sport where everyone belongs and can flourish.'

The ED & I Manager will work at both strategic and operational levels, leading the delivery of the Diversity & Inclusion Action Plan, and providing regular updates and reports to the England Athletics Board and Sport England as required.

This role involves regular interaction through inter-departmental collaboration, engagement with the Board, England Council, and member clubs, contributing to the ongoing development of the sport and its athletes and runners.

The postholder will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  1. Leading and championing the EA Diversity Action Plan across the organisation and the wider sport.
  2. Offering guidance to the Board, England Council, and Senior Management Team on how to reach, engage, and influence underrepresented groups as participants and within the governance structure, ensuring the cascade of priorities and targets across all work programmes.
  3. Managing ongoing relationships and strategic plan delivery with relevant partner organisations and key stakeholders such as MIND, Sporting Equals, Women in Sport, Activity Alliance, Sport England, and other EDI-focused bodies.
  4. Leading the England Athletics Culture & Wellbeing Group.
  5. Supporting EA colleagues to understand and advance this area through support, programmes, education/training, and services to member clubs, organisations, coaches, officials, and participants.
