About the Role
- This is a fixed term, part time role ( 22.5 hours / 60%FTE) to cover maternity leave and is offered for 12 months / until May 2027, depending on the return of the substantive postholder.
- You will join a thriving, friendly and supportive team reporting to the Head of HR and working closely with key stakeholders and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (EDI Committee). We will invest in your personal development through training and professional development.
- You will lead The School of Geography and the Environment’s (SoGE) Athena Swan work, maintaining the Silver award, delivering the 2026–2031 action plan, managing mandatory data, and coordinating working groups and deadlines.
- You will manage key EDI programmes, including the GEMS mentoring scheme and the internal Carers Network, overseeing recruitment, training, communications and events.
- You will act as the department’s Disability Coordinator for students, ensuring Student Support Plans are effectively communicated and implemented.
- You will lead data gathering and analysis for surveys and EDI initiatives, preparing reports, presentations and communications to support decision-making.
- You will collaborate widely across the School, University and external networks, representing SoGE, sharing best practice, and contributing to wider EDI activity as require
About You
- You will hold a degree or equivalent professional experience
- You will have experience in the field of equality and diversity, and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of policies and good practice in this area, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You will have proven project management skills, including the ability to work independently in a complex environment, taking initiative when necessary and prioritising work effectively to meet deadlines.
- You will have the ability to understand and manipulate data and the ability to compile and manage online surveys
- You will have a commitment to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion
