Overview

Recruitment of EPRR Training and Exercising Manager on a secondment basis to 30 September 2026.

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Emergency Preparedness specialist to join the EPRR team at NHS England – London Region, as a secondment cover for the EPRR Training and Exercising Manager role (AFC 8A) until 30 September 2026.

As EPRR Training and Exercising Manager the post-holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service, supporting managers and staff across EPRR in the London region, leading on exercising and training initiatives, developing resources for the EPRR function and ensuring that education and training opportunities are coordinated with multi-agency partners across the London Region and into the wider NHS.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Deputy Director, EPRR and BC and the EPRR team to ensure that the suite of EPRR education programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery.
  • Lead the coordination of training and exercising within the EPRR team and across the region, in conjunction with other regional and national colleagues.
  • Manage the Team’s training and exercising function, including oversight of the training and exercising delivery plan, developing and maintaining resources and working with multiple agencies and other partners.
  • Maintain a content management system to ensure training and exercising information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate and the wider NHS organisations.
  • Progress and report on risk and issue management and implementation of lessons identified.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

As the EPRR Training and Exercising Manager, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the NHS in London as well as delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff within the NHS England – London EPRR team.
