We are a Level 1 accredited One NHS Finance employer, working towards Level 2. We are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes diversity, which we see as a strength and part of our Trust's mission, values, and behaviours. We believe that different ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds foster a stronger, more creative work environment that ultimately delivers better patient outcomes.

Applicants must be able to work to challenging deadlines, be numerate, accurate, and possess good computer skills. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a committed team player, reliable, and dedicated to achieving their goals and supporting the Trust's core values. They will contribute positively to the team spirit.

The role involves supervising the day-to-day operations of the Purchasing Admin function, working independently and consulting the Deputy Head of Procurement when necessary. Responsibilities include organizing and prioritizing the workload of the Purchasing team, managing conflicting demands efficiently, and ensuring timely processing of purchase orders.

The successful candidate will work across clinical and non-clinical environments, purchasing a variety of products and services for all hospital sites within the Trust. An analytical approach and attention to detail are essential for adding value and processing electronic requests on the trust's ordering system.

They must use their initiative, work within specified timeframes, and adhere to Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders. The role requires liaising with customers and suppliers to identify needs, secure supplies, and contribute to financial savings, which may include obtaining quotations and sourcing products. Ensuring smooth electronic transactions through the Trust's Purchase to Pay system is also part of the role.

At HDFT, we provide outstanding care to both our patients and staff. We value Kindness, Integrity, Teamwork, and Equality. If you're seeking an interesting and rewarding NHS career where you can make a real difference, HDFT could be the right place for you!

We offer a supportive culture where colleagues can bring their whole selves to work, recognition through awards such as Making a Difference & Team of the Month, and comprehensive staff wellbeing benefits including an Employee Assistance Programme, counselling, and physiotherapy services.
