Join to apply for the Epidemiology and Information Scientist role at UK Health Security Agency.

This role supports senior epidemiologists in outbreak management, epidemiological investigations, data analysis, surveillance, research, and team leadership, contributing to public health efforts.

The position requires designing questionnaires, managing outbreak databases, conducting statistical analyses using tools like Stata, R, SQL, and ArcGIS, and supporting research and training activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Outbreak support and epidemiological investigation: Designing studies, developing questionnaires, analyzing data, and contributing to outbreak reports.
  2. Surveillance and data analysis: Maintaining databases, validating data quality, conducting analyses, and producing reports.
  3. Research: Contributing to scientific publications, designing study databases, and presenting findings.
  4. Management and Leadership: Acting as a role model, supporting policy development, and contributing to training and quality improvement.
  5. Quality and governance: Ensuring data security, quality, and proper data handling.

The role requires a degree or equivalent in public health or information science, experience with epidemiological investigation, statistical analysis, and proficiency in relevant software. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships are essential.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Bristol, with a minimum of 60% of working hours in the office. The position involves security clearance and adherence to civil service standards.
