Job description

Evaluation of the Job Description

The job description is well-structured and uses HTML tags effectively to enhance readability. It covers key responsibilities and candidate profile requirements comprehensively. However, there are areas for improvement:

  • Some content, especially in the application form section, might be overly detailed for a typical job description and could be condensed or separated into an application portal.
  • Minor formatting inconsistencies, such as the use of
    tags within headings, could be cleaned up.
  • The description is relevant and focused on the role, with no evident irrelevant content.

To improve clarity and professionalism, I will refine the formatting and streamline the application section, while keeping the core job details intact.

Below is the refined version:

EPC Project Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced EPC Project Manager to oversee the execution of large-scale renewable energy installations across the UK, with an initial focus on utility-scale solar PV, likely expanding to include energy storage and onshore wind.

Your leadership will guide each project from detailed planning through to commissioning, at which point it will be transitioned to the operational management team.

The role requires a strong mix of technical oversight, stakeholder coordination, and on-the-ground problem-solving. You’ll engage regularly with suppliers, contractors, and a range of stakeholders, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across technical, commercial, and risk disciplines to uphold high standards in health & safety and quality;
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of internal project delivery systems and methodologies;
  • Lead engineering, procurement, and construction activities; organise and chair regular project coordination meetings;
  • Manage project financials, including budgeting, cash flow, and invoice validation;
  • Conduct site inspections to track progress and resolve issues in real time;
  • Ensure full compliance with permits, lease terms, grid agreements, financing terms, and offtake contracts;
  • Prepare and maintain project reporting materials covering progress, expenditures, risks, and safety performance;
  • Develop and validate capital expenditure estimates;
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to establish and manage project team structures;
  • Ensure delivery of construction projects on schedule, within scope, and on budget;
  • Be the accountable owner of each project during the pre-operational lifecycle.
Your Profile
  • Degree in engineering, project management, or equivalent professional experience;
  • Demonstrated success managing grid-connected renewable energy projects, ideally solar PV, during the build phase;
  • In-depth understanding of UK health and safety regulations;
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken;
  • Full driving license valid in the UK;
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the UK, and occasionally to mainland Europe;
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities with confidence.
