Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking an experienced EOTAS Tutor for an in-person role in Yeovil, Somerset. You will deliver one-to-one educational support to a learner receiving EOTAS, adapting methods to meet SEND/SEMH needs and building confidence to re-engage with education.

The role emphasizes patience, flexibility and resilience, with safeguarding a core commitment, and may involve sessions at home or in community settings.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children/young people with SEND and/or SEMH.
• Experience delivering one-to-one tuition or outreach provision.
• Experience supporting learners facing barriers to mainstream education.
• Flexible teaching approach to adapt to different subjects and needs.
• Enhanced DBS check, references and the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised one-to-one educational support to the learner.
• Support learning across relevant subjects (English/Maths/Science) as needed.
• Identify gaps and provide targeted educational support.
• Adapt teaching methods and pace to suit individual learning needs.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents/carers and other professionals.
• Collaborate with other professionals to support the learner's educational progress.
• Maintain professional boundaries and safeguarding.
• Create a calm, structured learning environment.
• Respond calmly to challenging behaviour and de-escalate when needed.
