The Head of Media Efficiency is responsible for helping the European region deliver against Samsung’s vision of a consolidated and standardized global media investment approach. The role is responsible for supporting the global drive towards improving media efficiency and delivering a premium customer experience at every touchpoint. This role serves as a central point of contact for media across Europe, working with partners globally, regionally, and locally.

Role and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

Media Efficiency Leadership

  • Regional Lead for Media Efficiency
    Act as the primary point of contact for media efficiency across Europe, ensuring all subsidiaries deliver against global media efficiency targets while driving regional optimisation strategies.

  • Strategic Governance & Performance Monitoring
    Develop and implement efficiency driven processes for digital and traditional media channels, including ATL, OOH, Radio, and Print. Analyse performance trends across subsidiaries to identify underperformance, uncover root causes, and implement data driven improvement strategies at regional and subsidiary levels.

  • Global Media Performance Dashboard (GMPD) Development & Enhancement
    Support the development of the global media performance dashboard (GMPD) by facilitating data validation, access management, and requirements gathering. Influence the GMPD enhancement roadmap, ensuring European needs are incorporated into global media efficiency tracking.

  • Media Efficiency KPIs & Benchmarking
    Implement standardised media KPI and measurements for the European region, ensuring alignment with Samsung’s business objectives. Coordinate the implementation of strategic suggestions, monitor progress and measurable improvements.

  • Communication & Senior Stakeholder Engagement
    Provide regular performance reports and subsidiary insights to senior management, including subsidiary presidents, highlighting key actions and progress. Lead the European media efficiency narrative, influencing global media strategy and advocating for Europe’s needs at HQ level.

Process Innovation & Efficiency Optimisation

  • Develop Scalable & Automated Processes
    Identify inefficiencies in media buying, reporting, and optimisation workflows, streamlining operations to improve speed, accuracy, and effectiveness. Lead automation initiatives that enhance campaign planning, performance tracking, budget allocation, and optimisation.

  • Standardise & Scale Best Practices Across Europe
    Implement consistent media efficiency frameworks across all European subsidiaries, ensuring standard methodologies are coordinated into daily operations. Develop media planning and execution playbooks to ensure alignment between subsidiaries, European Office, and HQ.

  • Drive Innovation in Measurement & Attribution
    Implement advanced attribution models and incrementality testing to improve access to media performance and return on investment. Collaborate with data and analytics teams to develop measurement frameworks that support real-time decision-making.

  • Optimise Budgeting & Media Investment
    Introduce AI driven forecasting models and predictive analytics to improve budget allocation and return on investment. Lead the implementation of performance based media buying approaches, ensuring swift investment decisions based on real-time performance insights.

Media Partner Management

  • Maximise Strategic Partnerships
    Work closely with key global and regional media partners, including Google, Meta, and others. Ensure partners drive innovation and business growth through tailored partnerships and pilot programs. Ensure our partners deliver effective media buying practices and premium customer experiences at every touchpoint. Hold partners accountable for delivering measurable results that align with Samsung’s business goals.

  • Global Digital Deals (GDD) Optimisation
    Support the European media team in maximising value from GDD (Global Digital Deals), governing and influencing $174M in investments (including Nordics, Italy, and Portugal). Ensure spend is aligned with business priorities, optimising investment in high value pilots and initiatives.

Supplier & Agency Management

  • Optimise Multi Vendor Media Operations: Work within a complex, multi-agency ecosystem, managing key agencies and delivery partners such as Starcom, Mindshare, Cheil, and SDSE.

  • Performance Oversight & Accountability
    Ensure media agencies deliver maximum value and efficiency through rigorous performance tracking and governance. Identify areas for optimisation, develop action plans, and monitor progress, ensuring agencies continuously improve and align with Samsung’s strategic goals.

Stakeholder Management

  • Lead Media Efficiency Initiatives Across Europe
    Drive collaboration across Brand Marketing, D2C, PR, CMI, and Planning, ensuring cross-functional alignment on media efficiency strategies.

  • Executive Level Engagement
    Communicate progress, improvement plans, and central initiatives to subsidiary senior management, ensuring agreement and execution. Act as the primary link between European subsidiaries and HQ on media efficiency topics, advocating for regional priorities and aligning local execution with global mandates.

  • Global & Regional Influence
    Represent the European region in global media forums, ensuring Samsung’s global media efficiency strategy reflects Europe’s unique challenges and opportunities.

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A blend of strategic, analytical, and technical strengths, with a strong focus on delivery and the ability to influence collaborators.
  • Strategic problem solver with a proven ability to develop and implement strategies across all paid media channels.
  • Working knowledge of ATL media planning and buying across all paid media channels including traditional and digital.
  • Working knowledge of paid media adtech including Google Marketing Cloud (GA360, GA4, Looker, DV360, Google Ads), Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X, feed integration solutions (e.g. Intelligent Reach).
  • Data-driven approach with expertise in bringing to bear customer insights for decision-making.
  • Outstanding abilities in communication and collaboration, with the capacity to influence customers at all levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Innovative and adaptable, with a passion for driving continuous improvement.
  • Implemented European-wide data-driven, multi-touchpoint marketing plans across digital channels to drive Acquisition, Retention & Loyalty.
  • Strong background in collaborating with regional teams and aligning local and global objectives.
  • Strong agency/team management skills; comfortable leading multi-cultural teams, providing both strategic and hands-on operational feedback and evidence of getting results.
  • Experience in media auditing is beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics or retail industry.
  • Proficiency in data analytics platforms and tools.
  • Dynamic and adaptable mind-set to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resilience to navigate complex challenges.

The interview process

  • 30 min initial interview with media team.
  • If successful, follow up interview with media lead, likely supported by a task.
