RSK Response has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Technician to join our growing team in Uckfield, UK.
RSK Response is a business unit within the RSK Group that specialises in 24/7 environmental incident response, inspection, and maintenance services.
Responsibilities
- Development and adherence to specific health & safety risk assessments related to work activities.
- Rapid response to environmental incidents in urban and rural settings.
- Assessment of pollution risks and application of techniques for containing and recovering oils or contaminants.
- Environmental monitoring and sampling activities.
- Engaging with clients and co-contractors to determine appropriate technical responses.
- Coordination with technical and managerial teams regarding incidents and projects.
- Effective report writing and information management.
- Waste management and Duty of Care compliance.
- Inspection and maintenance of oil storage areas, electrical transformer bunds, water separators, interceptors, and related infrastructure.
- Decontamination and deep cleaning tasks.
- Maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
- Stock management.
- Drainage and utilities inspection.
- Working safely within electrical substations and high-hazard sites.
Additional Information
- Work involves a 24/7 response service; on-call rota work is required and compensated.
- Strong time management, organisational, and communication skills are essential.
- Travel across Scotland, and occasionally England and Wales, is required.
- Occasional overnight stays may be necessary.
- Incident response training and other development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications and Experience
- Full, clean driving license (essential).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (essential).
- Experience in utilities, civil, or construction sites (desirable).
- Excavator/dumper certification (desirable).
- Basic project management skills (desirable).
- BSc in a relevant environmental field (desirable).
- CSCS certification (desirable).
- First aid certification (desirable).
