What you'll be doing
- Completion, review, and update of company environmental documentation, sustainability delivery, and a variety of environmental risks and opportunities.
- Producing and maintaining permitting and licensing requirements for specific projects.
- Supporting with awards submission entries.
- Interpreting policy, regulation, and legislation across the portfolio.
- Providing visible ES support and leadership across the portfolio.
- Supporting high-level, complex projects from feasibility to post-construction with your E&S Team colleagues.
- Ensuring and reporting on environmental compliance.
- Conducting regular site inspections, including with clients or regulatory representatives.
- Identifying and promoting innovative solutions.
- Advising and guiding all levels within the project portfolio.
- Cascading ES information such as KPIs to the supply chain.
- Supporting work-winning activities by advising on ES issues like planning, permitting, and licensing.
- Attending work-winning interviews with clients.
- Supporting project/operations leads in identifying potential ES-related commercial impacts or opportunities and claims.
- Identifying best practices and case studies.
- Delivering ESA training or other awareness activities.
- Ensuring timely client and internal reporting.
- Managing and reporting all environmental incidents.
- Managing and maintaining EROA/IRIS systems.
- Driving sustainability action plans and informing key project decisions through data, assessments, audits, and incidents.
- Line managing ES advisors, coordinators, graduates, or apprentices.
Who we're looking for
- Full driving license and flexibility to travel.
- Membership at a professional body (IEMA/CIEEM/CIWEM) or equivalent experience and competence.
- Good knowledge of environmental management, especially in construction environments.
- Practical experience with statutory environmental requirements, legislation, ecology mitigation, licensing, and regulation.
- Experience overseeing, developing, and directing Graduate ES roles.
- Understanding of collaborative work benefits.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with determination to complete tasks.
- Ability to interpret and manage data via databases, maintain records, and write detailed reports.
- Willingness to visit worksites across Scotland and attend occasional meetings across the UK.
- Literate in MS Office applications.
- Ability to deputize for a more senior role, such as Lead Senior ES Manager.
