This project is a key driver in making Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.

Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental Sustainability Advisor to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project at our new site in Redcar-in-Cleveland on Teesside.

  7. Deliver value-adding environment projects and support ecological enhancements.
  8. Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors on environmental management and sustainability matters.
  9. Produce and update environmental management plans and risk assessments.
  10. Provide on-site advice on environmental management, compliance, and project-specific mitigation measures, including pollution control and ecology protection.

  12. Ensure implementation of environmental management systems on project sites.
  13. Stay updated on standards and legislation, recommending changes where applicable.
  14. Deliver environmental training, toolbox talks, and onsite coaching.
  15. Produce reports such as case studies, performance metrics, KPI reports, and lessons learned.
  16. Support and conduct audit and assurance activities, including external audits.
  17. Perform regular compliance inspections of site works.
  18. Assist in developing and producing KPIs and management reports.
  19. Perform other duties as required.
Who we're looking for

  3. Practical experience with environmental legislation, ecology mitigation, licenses, and consent applications.
  4. Understanding of ecological matters and environmental law.
