Job summary

Freeths LLP Planning and Environment Group is looking to recruit a qualified Environmental Solicitor (circa 6 yrs PQE) to work with Partner Ben Derrington, ideally in our Bristol office but open to strong candidates in other Freeths locations. The role spans waste regulation, environmental permitting and related regulatory matters.

Qualifications

• Qualified Environmental Solicitor with circa 6+ years PQE.
• Experience in real estate and corporate transactional support is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of waste regulation and environmental permitting.
• Ability to collaborate across Freeths' Bristol office and other locations.

Responsibilities

• Advise on waste regulation including complex end-of-waste matters.
• Handle environmental permitting of waste operations, including defence of enforcement action.
• Advise on energy-from-waste regulation, pollution incidents, contaminated land, water resources and climate change law.
• Provide transactional support in real estate and corporate matters as part of the environmental practice.
• Collaborate with partners and colleagues to support growth of the team.
