Role Overview
The ESG Manager will lead the development and implementation of the company's ESG strategy, ensuring integration of environmental, social, and governance considerations into all operations. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, self-motivated, with a strong foundation in ESG principles and a passion for sustainable practices across diverse sectors.
Key Responsibilities of the ESG Manager
- ESG Framework: Design and implement a comprehensive ESG framework aligned with the company's mission and operational goals, covering all portfolio elements and committing to continuous improvement based on SMART KPIs.
- Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce ESG policies and procedures across all departments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Portfolio Collaboration: Build relationships across the portfolio to ensure unified efforts toward shared ESG goals and active collaboration.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, community groups, regulators, and certification bodies, to share successes and implement best practices.
- Reporting and Disclosure: Oversee ESG reporting and audits in accordance with SECR, managing the internal data platform.
- Training and Awareness: Support the development and delivery of ESG training programs to foster a culture of sustainability and ethical responsibility.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. A Master's degree is desirable.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ESG management, sustainability reporting, or corporate responsibility, preferably within hospitality.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of ESG reporting standards such as SECR, CSRD, CSDDD, GRI, TCFD, and familiarity with ESG data management tools.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in data analysis and interpretation, capable of translating ESG data into actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills to convey ESG concepts effectively.
- Certifications: Experience with certifications like Earth-Check, B-Corp, ISO, BREEAM is preferable.
