Environmental Services Technician - Water

Based on site at Rolls-Royce Derby, but covering various mobile sites. Hours: 40 Hours.

What this job involves:

  • As a Environmental Services Technician (Water) at JLL, you will play a pivotal role in carrying out Legionella Management Compliance tasks in line with the L8 and HSG 274 Guidance.
  • The successful candidate will attend various sites across the client site portfolio, and complete monthly PPM tasks on Domestic Hot & Cold Water Systems and Process Systems.
  • This will include TMV servicing, Install / Replace TMV's, Temperature Monitoring of Domestic Hot and Cold Water Systems, Water System Testing & Inspections (Shower Clean & Descale), Tank Inspections and/or Clean and Disinfections, Remedial Plumbing Tasks, Small Install Works, Removal of Dead-Legs, and Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing worn components.
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
  • Perform Closed Loop System Sampling and Analysis and Provide Remedial Action Recommendations for additional Chemical Dosing and/or Flushing.

You'll be responsible for ensuring efficient water usage, sustainable practices, and regulatory compliance while delivering innovative solutions that support our clients' operational goals.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Monitor water quality parameters and ensure compliance with Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations and Environment Agency requirements.
  • Completion of Water Related Tasks and record granular results using handheld PDA and electronic compliance software.
  • Ensure full compliance with health regulations including HSE ACoP L8, HSG 274, and local health authority requirements and provide technical support and guidance to facility management teams on water system operations and maintenance.
Required experience:
  • Proven experience as a Water Engineer within Legionella Compliance field, including Engineer Test Kits and Equipment for Domestic Hot & Cold Water, Closed System and Process System Disciplines.
  • Plumbing & water treatment remedial skills.
  • Plumbing qualification (Not Essential).
  • Experience of working on commercial/industrial sites.
  • Demonstrable ability to use a variety of testing equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Flexibility to work some overtime if required.
  • Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship.
  • Valid driving license.
