Job Description
The successful candidate will work on the wide portfolio of projects that Crawford's Environmental Consulting team undertakes, relating to environmental and sustainability services and advice. A list of our service teams is described below:
The above relate to the consulting service areas; you may also be asked to help with Specialist Loss Adjusting Services (Environmental adjusting services) and/or Environmental Liability - Risk Engineering (Underwriter services and Insurance broker services).
Crawford's clients can be from any sector and any part of the world, and while most of the work is based in the UK, there will be opportunities that may require travel overseas as the business grows.
Key relationships include those with directors, principals and team members, other company staff, clients and prospective clients. You will report to a senior line manager appropriate to your area of expertise and work.
Typically, staff at this grade have strong technical expertise in, for example, environmental risk assessment or carbon reporting and regulatory frameworks, along with leading projects, managing junior staff, and acting as a key client contact. Staff are also developing commercial skills, proposal writing, and regulatory negotiations. Duties undertaken will vary according to the contracts and clients that are typical of the service area covered.
The successful candidate will be fundamental to the day-to-day activities of the consulting team and important to the delivery of outputs for clients. Crawford takes the view that Consultants should be invested in and will, ideally, progress within the company at a pace determined by their abilities. Clients hire consultants for their skills, knowledge, and expertise, and this is reflected in our support of your professional development. At this grade, you would be expected to be able to undertake all tasks independently and be seeking to hone your knowledge and skills to become an expert in the field.
We are seeking a highly motivated and high calibre candidate(s) to fulfil the role. Candidates should reflect our values and commitment to quality and are expected to be self-disciplined, well organised and to be able to present themselves in a professional manner. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate their ability to stick at tasks to achieve a successful conclusion and to independently solve problems along the way. An interest in, and commitment to, environmental and sustainability issues is expected as well as a desire to make a difference.
From time to time, employees are also encouraged to comment on the development of the team and to propose improvements in policies and procedures as appropriate.
