Environmental & Rural Property Solicitor (1 year+)

A highly respected UK law firm headquartered in Scotland is seeking a solicitor join its Real Estate team, with a focus on environmental law, rural property and natural capital.

The firm is widely recognised for its inclusive culture, legal expertise and strong presence across key sectors. It continues to grow in size, revenue, and reputation, offering lawyers the opportunity to develop their careers within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

This role sits within a specialist team advising on the legal aspects of rural property, environmental regulation and sustainability-driven land use. You will have the chance to support a wide variety of clients, including estates, landowners, forestry investors and developers involved in energy and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling rural land transactions, including the purchase and sale of estates, farms and forestry assets
  • Advising on environmental matters such as natural capital, carbon sequestration and biodiversity projects
  • Supporting landowners on renewable energy and infrastructure developments
  • Drafting and negotiating title documentation, option agreements, wayleaves and servitudes
  • Providing strategic legal advice on rural development, planning and land reform

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified solicitor with 1+ years’ PQE in real estate, rural property, or environmental law
  • Strong understanding of property transactions, title review and land-based legal issues
  • Excellent communication, drafting and organisational skills
  • A genuine interest in rural affairs, sustainability and the environment
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
