Job Title: Environmental Protection Team Leader

Location: Hybrid Role, working from home 3 days per week, 2 days in the Kettering and Thrapston office.

Rate of Pay: £43 per hour Umbrella / £35.50 PAYE

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 37 hours per week

Type: Temporary contract for 3 month

Opus People Solutions are working with North Northamptonshire Council to recruit for a Environmental Protection Team Leader.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead on Major Planning Applications: Act as the technical lead for assessing the environmental impacts of major planning applications, providing expert advice and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policy.
• Conduct and Oversee EPR Inspections: Lead and coordinate inspections under the Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR), ensuring high standards of environmental protection and regulatory compliance.
• Manage Complex Statutory Nuisance Investigations: Take the lead on complex investigations into statutory nuisances, including noise, odour, and air quality issues, and oversee the resolution process in line with legal requirements.
• Team Leadership and Work Allocation: Allocate work across the Environmental Protection team, ensuring effective use of resources and timely delivery of services.
• Provide Technical Guidance and Support: Offer expert advice, mentorship, and professional guidance to team members to maintain high standards and support ongoing development.
• Ensure Compliance and Best Practice: Promote adherence to relevant environmental legislation, policies, and best practices across all areas of the team's work.
