Job summary

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Public Protection Officer to join its enforcement team onsite at Harrow, Middlesex. You will investigate environmental crime, issue FPNs/CPWs, gather evidence, and support prosecutions.

You must have proven experience in public protection or environmental enforcement, strong communication skills, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to manage a varied caseload with integrity and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Experience in Public Protection or Environmental Enforcement.
• Experience issuing FPNs and CPWs.
• Strong communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate environmental crime, fly-tipping, littering and other public protection issues.
• Carry out enforcement activities in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures.
• Issue Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and Community Protection Warnings (CPWs).
• Examine fly-tipped waste to identify evidence, addresses and individuals responsible.
• Gather evidence, take statements, prepare case files and support prosecutions.
• Conduct inspections, patrols and site visits across the borough.
• Engage with residents, businesses and partner agencies to resolve concerns.
• Maintain records and enforcement documentation using council systems.
